Pitched, hip, gable and skillion roofs — rafters, ridges, underpurlins and hips cut on site with support members added to plan.
Roof framing is where craftsmanship shows. AWA cuts and stands pitched roofs on site — hip, gable, skillion and combination roofs — with rafters, ridges, hips, valleys and underpurlins all set out to the plan and pitch.
We follow the span principle properly: where a rafter or underpurlin exceeds its span, we add a support member at the break point rather than simply upsizing the timber, keeping the roof true and economical. Every roof is framed to AS 1684.
We set out and cut the roof on site so it matches the actual walls and pitch — not a rough pre-cut that fights the frame. Hips and valleys land clean and the roofers get a straight run.
We hand over a roof that is square, braced and true, ready for battens, sarking and roofing — on program so your roofing trade is not left waiting.
We bring roof framing to builders right across Sydney. A few of the areas we cover:
Both — from simple gable and skillion roofs through to complex hip-and-valley and combination roofs cut on site.
We work with both conventional (cut) roofs and truss roofs, and can frame the supporting structure either way to suit the design.
